Description

Meet Giza! An old fart eerily similar to a certain old cheetah~ :eyes: So this will be for The-Painted-Skies when it opens. I know I'm still busy and RPs have been slow or even nonexistent at the moment, but I wanna get in this group as quick as I can ;u;

Name:
Giza
Full Name: Giza Nyotamwanga
Name meaning: Dark (Dark Starlight)
Age: Old (unknown)
Gender: Male

Rank: Elder
Pack: Nyota
Skill: Loud Voice

Personality:
:bulletgreen: Reliable- Giza is a very reliable soul. He can be trusted with secrets and even trusted to save someone should they ask him to have his back. In his younger years, he'd often help as often, despite his rather negative attitude. As he got older, he wasn't allowed to do as much, as well as unable to do as much. However, his loyalty still strong, Giza often places himself at lend to anyone who would need him. At first many are put off by him due to his grouchy attitude, yet if they give him the chance, they will see they made no mistake. Depending on how close a dog is to Giza, the old mutt would even risk his own life.

:bulletgreen: Protective- Giza is fiercely protective of his pack and, most of all, his niece. He will not hesitate to jump into a brawl in order to protect one or the other, no matter how big the enemy or how dangerous the threat. Sometimes his protective nature could lead to some tensions if something happens with his niece. Such as should she be picked on, Giza won't hesitate to give a disciplining biter to the bully's neck even if it's from his own pack. If a male tries to become too close to her, he won't hesitate to scare that dog away. Despite these, Giza's protectiveness helps the pack more than hinders it.

:bulletgreen: Empathetic- Again despite his attitude and appearance, Giza can have a lot of empathy. He had been through tough times and loss of loved ones. If a dog is having a really hard time and seems just completely down on their luck, Giza will help them, even his personality will soften a bit. He often tries to imagine himself in that dog's place, making him wiser through the years.

:bulletyellow: Grouchy- Giza is usually in a foul mood, and even if he isn't he still comes off as blunt and even kind of means at times. This can be very off putting for dogs meeting him for the first time. However those who know him understand through his tone and body language when he actually means a threat or insult and when he's actually angry. It takes some time to get close to Giza, but when one does, he'll show a slightly nicer side.

:bulletyellow: Not Easily Trusting- Because of past grievances, it takes a lot to earn Giza's trust. Not only is it difficult but it is extremely fragile. Should a dog trying to be his friend accidentally does something to create tension or a misunderstanding, Giza would shut them out and their chance of getting his trust diminishes to near impossible. So one must tread carefully when interacting with the elder. However, should one get his trust he will open up more and maybe even tell about his life. Giza takes loyalties seriously so should he trust someone, he expects them to trust him back.

:bulletred: Short Temper- It doesn't take much to put Giza in a rage. The elder has a very short fuse and should he reach his breaking point he will not hesitate to give the object of his anger a piece of his mind, vocally assault them and even sometimes attack. His temper, however, seems to have limits. His temper isn't as easily lost with young pups but it can take just a simple look from a dog of another pack and he'll be in their face with teeth bared.

:bulletred: Impatient- Similar to his temper, Giza has very little patience. It can lead to rash decisions or he may jump to conclusions that are incorrect. He'll often need to find someone to blame and in his younger years he had trouble waiting for prey which often led to him missing most catches. Similar to his temper again, he seems to have more patience with pups (but not by that much) and has absolutely none for dogs from other packs.

:bulletred: Bigot- Giza hates dogs from the other packs. No one quite knows why, but it had something to do with his past... He will not hesitate to insult and disrespect. He never even cared for the other two alphas, having no fear of their authority either. Just the scent of the other packs makes his fur bristle. The elder will stay as far away from the other packs as much as possible, always looking for any chance to blame them for something or fight them.

Brief History:
Very little is known about Giza's past because of how secretive he is. However as time goes by, more may be revealed...
(NOTE: his past will be short and very vague because I plan on doing small RPs to fill in his history more~)

Puphood
Giza was a curious pup at first, interested in many things. However he learned friend from foe in animals and objects quickly. His parents cared for him and his littermate sister Muziki well so Giza had very little to complain about. However the other pups made him nervous. He'd often hang back and watch him play while his sister tried to coax him. However he'd rather play with her alone. They'd often get into trouble and sneak out, Giza scolding his sister, getting annoyed with being punished because of her lamebrain ideas.

Tenderfoot
Not much changed from his puphood years, his sister still got them in trouble and he'd rather observe over interacting. However one day while walking through the territory he slipped into a raging river. It had been the rainy season so the water was quite high and he was a poor swimmer. At one point Giza was sure he was going to drown until he felt teeth grab his scruff and swim strongly against the current. When he was pulled back onto the earth, Giza was surprised to find that a strange cheetah cub had rescued him. He was puzzled as to why but the two ended up forming a strong friendship. They could not understand each other's language but they communicated through body language and facial expressions. They learned to tell by sounds which was a happy mood, angry mood or worried mood. They'd often play together until another young cub got between them, beating up Giza and chasing him away... However Giza would still visit his new friend occasionally.
However, one day, his father decided he wanted to return to the pack he had originally been from. He left unceremoniously, to spare his kids the pain of goodbye or just because he didn't want to, it still hurt Giza. He felt much of his world crash around him and he became more introverted, angry, and less trusting

Adulthood- Chaser
As a Chaser, Giza was relied on to fetch food and provide for the pack. He was a little rebel at times, even defying the alpha. However as he grew out of young adulthood he became more respectful even if his attitude didn't really improve.... He'd still enjoy his sister's company and had one or two close friends. (still figuring out if any big events happened during this time in his life)

Elder- His mood got so bad that many pack members refused to continue hunting with him and he could barely catch a thing on his own. Due to this he was forced into early retirement. He didn't complain....well....he didn't complain too much. Something awful happened one day resulting in the death of his beloved sister. Details were foggy and no one who had known what happened were no longer living, having died from age or misfortune. However she left behind a she-pup whom Giza named after his beloved sister- Muziki. Baby Mu. Needless to say whatever happened fueled his rage against the other packs even more.
When the massive shift of the island caused most of the destruction, the packs were able to survive. However Giza feared for one of his oldest friends- that strange cheetah. He was far away and on high ground when he spotted the tidal wave hit the area his friend lived and his heart sank. Later when it was deemed safe to return, there was not a single cheetah in sight. He believed the wave killed them all, including his friend. He mourned and wept for his friend. One of the rare times he showed such vulnerable emotions....
Today he often tells tall tales to pups, watches after his niece, Muziki, and trail around the territory searching for something to keep him from being too bored.

Relationships:
(Will be filled in during role playing)

Roleplay Example:
Example from THK:
The sun was merciless today, beating down on the plants and animals of earth. The herds huddled around the watering hole to drink and cool off, socializing with other species they may have only passed by on their migrations. Each creature made a certain sound through the noses and feet. And every sound reached Kivuli’s ears. The old cheetah opened an eye and released a yawn, his tongue curling between pearly-white fangs. Stretching his bones and sore muscles, Kivuli slowly pulled himself up to sit and gaze off into the distance. He could see a small dot far in the distance- the small speck was none other than the crowded watering hole. The cheetah smirked, a small blue glow catching the corner of his eye. His hidden mark now was glowing as his ears perked forward, hearing the herds of animals that were more than five miles away. They sounded so crystal clear as if he were right beside them.
Yawning again for good measure, Kivuli left the shade of the old baobab tree and padded down the hill towards camp. Some lunch sounded very satisfying at the moment.
